Services Offered
Each client has a unique journey with therapy. Creating a trusting counseling relationship is vital for the client’s therapeutic success.
Psychotherapy – is the treatment of mental or emotional disorders utilizing psychological techniques rather than through physical or biological means.
Cognitive Therapy – treatment focuses on changing thoughts in order to solve psychological and personality problems. Behavior Therapy treats emotional and behavioral disorders by teaching replacement strategies.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – integrates features of behavior modification into the traditional cognitive restricting approach. CBT provides coping skills and strategies utilizing social skills, mood awareness, and education for treatment.
Play Therapy – is used with children as a medium for understanding and communication with the child. The aim of play therapy is to decrease behavioral and emotional difficulties between child and adult. It will commonly improve social relations, coping with anxiety and frustration, impulse control and verbal expression.
Preparing for Special Education – services can be overwhelming. Coaching families and explaining the process allows the transition to flow smoothly. Sometimes an advocate is helpful at ARD meetings and that can be provided at my normal per hour fee schedule if needed.
