I graduated from Sam Houston State University as an educator. I have taught elementary, middle school and high school students primarily with special education students for 21 years. My Master’s Degree in Counseling was also from SHSU in 2009. I was licensed with the state of Texas in 2010 as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Although I have intertwined my career in education with Counseling for the past ten years, I now will devote myself to therapy on a full-time basis. My primary focus will be with families encountering academic learning disabilities in coaching for the students and parents to advocate for themselves especially in the public-school arena. Since I have experience as a Special Education Teacher/ARD facilitator/Department Manager I can walk the family through the steps of assisting your child with a pro-active mind set. In addition, my experience includes behavioral concerns, emotional disorders, ADHD, anger, anxiety, Autism Spectrum disorders, grief, and transitions in life.
